Description
Dakota designed the 76 Traveler with the worldly hunter in mind. These rifles break down into a small manageable size, for extended travele. This particular rifle was built for famed hunter and author Terry Weiland and it appears in his book Dangerous-Game Rifles. Dakota produced this rifle in 2000 and assigned it a special serial number TW2000. This rifle features a 22" barrel with an island rear sight and a ramped front night sight, it also has a barrel band sling swivel . Mounted atop the receiver, using Talley base and rings is a Swarovski Z6 1-6 x24 scope. The hand picked European walnut has beautiful figure through out. Styled with an Oberndorf floor plate, giving the stock its distinct look. The stock is also highlighted with point checkering, ebony forend and a shadow line cheekpiece. On the under side of the stock you will find a nicely inleted sling swivel, held in place with two screws. The length of pull on this rifle is 13- 3/4" to a 7/8" factory recoil pad. The metal retains 99% of its original blue finish. The receiver is styled after the famed Winchester model 70 including the three position safety. Chambered in .458 Lott, this rifle will be the perfect companion on you next Big 5 African Safari.
